Your Next Mini Session - The Complete Guide

You’re in. Let’s make this count.

I’m so thrilled you booked a mini session with me!

Mini sessions are designed for simplicity and efficiency and are genuinely helpful for your business. You’re not just popping in for a few photos. You’re building a small collection of images you can actually use across your marketing.

Think of this as a focused reset for your content.

What this is

(and what it’s not)

Mini sessions are meant to be focused, efficient, and impactful.

They give you exactly what you need without overcomplicating the process.

They’re not full production shoots.
We’re not building out multiple locations, large storylines, or full campaigns.

But they are:

•Thoughtful and detailed in your business
• Intentional
to tell your unique story
• Focused
on what your business actually needs right now

You’ll walk away with images that feel like you and work for your brand.

What we’re aiming for

(+ a little fun!)

The goal is simple:

Create images that help you show up consistently and confidently.

That might look like:

• Updated brand photos for your website
• Content for social media
• Photos that match your current season of business
• A more elevated, cohesive look across your platforms

We’re not trying to do everything.
We’re doing the right things well.

Before your session

You don’t need to overprepare for your mini session, but a little direction makes a big difference. Click through the steps below for more details.

  • About 3 weeks before the mini session, I will host a Zoom call with all participants. I’ll go through the day, what to expect, and what you’ll need. You’ll be able to share your business and ask me any questions.

  • Ask yourself:

    • Where will these images live first?

    • What do I need more of right now?

    • Why have I been avoiding posting because I don’t have photos?

    • What best communicates what we do as a business?

If you come in knowing this, everything clicks faster. If you need some help on these questions, shoot me an email. My team and I will help you brainstorm ideas!

  • A few quick guidelines:

    • Stick to 1–2 outfits max

    • Choose pieces you feel confident and comfortable in

    • Keep it aligned with your brand, especially your colors (not just what’s trendy)

    • Avoid loud patterns or distracting logos

If you wouldn’t wear it to meet a client, skip it. You don’t have to wear a ball gown. I lean towards cute and business casual.

  • If they make sense for your work, I love a good prop! (Gives you something to do with your hands).

    Examples:

    • Laptop, notebook, camera, phone, social tools
    • Product samples
    • Packaging or branded materials
    • Anything you naturally use in your business

If it feels forced, leave it at home.
    We want real, not staged.

What to expect

DURING YOUR SESSION

This is where most people get nervous. Totally normal.

Here’s the truth:
You don’t need to know how to pose.

I’ll guide you the entire time.

We’ll move quickly, keep things relaxed, and focus on natural movement and expression so nothing feels stiff or awkward.

You’re allowed to laugh. You’re allowed to feel a little unsure at first. That usually lasts about 2 minutes.

TIMING MATTERS

(and we'll stick to it)

Mini sessions are scheduled back-to-back, which means:

  • Please arrive early

  • Clean face and freshly washed and dried hair

  • Give time for your hair and makeup with our stylist

  • Have your clothing and props organized, ready to go

  • Come excited to start

  • You’ll have 30 minutes for your session

This helps everything run smoothly for you and everyone else.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

You’ll receive a curated gallery of images that are clean, on-brand, and easy to use across your platforms. You’ll also have the option to buy the full gallery.

From there, you can:

  • Update your website

  • Batch your social content

  • Refresh your online presence

  • Create new marketing materials

  • Actually feel excited to show up again!

(I notice that the last one tends to be the biggest shift.)

How to get the most out of these photos

This is the part most people miss.

Don’t just post one photo and move on.

Use your images across:

  • Instagram posts + reels (Facebook, Tik Tok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X, etc.)

  • Website updates

  • Email newsletters

  • Email signature

  • Launch graphics

  • Profile photos

  • Marketing materials

You didn’t invest in photos just to use one of them… trust me! Let’s get out there are market your amazing business!

One final note

→ You don’t need a full-day shoot to show up well online.

→ You just need the right images, created with intention.

That’s what this mini session day is for. If you have any questions at all, please email us @ hello@lenaleephoto.com! One of my team members will get back to you asap to help.

We’re so excited you are here, and we can’t thank you enough!
